Many organizations are faced with the impending retirement of the baby boom generation and their knowledge will walk out the door with them. The question for many companies is can they retain a portion of that knowledge? The next five to ten years a great transition in power will occur as the Last of the silent generation, and a significant portion of the baby boom generation hands the reigns over to their younger counterparts. There is nothing astonishing about this transition it has been done since man began work.
What will be interesting this time around is:
How or will that legacy knowledge be retained within the organization?
Is there a generational divide or a lack of trust between generations that impedes progress?
What needs to be changed so knowledge can flow?
How is knowledge currently being shared where you work?
